So I’ve been programming for a little over a year now. Not too long, but long enough to realize something.

Everyone always talks about imposter syndrome and I don’t understand it. I don’t think I’ve ever felt like an imposter when I code, or that I’m a dumbass and can’t code or something(Well, I have definitely felt like a dumbass when I code but that’s because I am sometimes)

What makes you feel like you have imposters syndrome and how so?

I was working with my embedded systems friend a few days ago on a website, and since we work with electronics, it was something new.

I then went home and started learning web development.

Holy shit I love it

I will continue to until it’s time to know about JavaScript

Today is just me and my friend, two embedded systems geeks making a website.

It’s going awful but it’s fun as hell😂

I want a robot that can do just one thing, just so I can say fuck you to these forms.

Well that, and maybe one other thing but let’s not talk about that😉

You know, like be able to see what cars and signs look like in pictures. Geez, what the hell were you thinking about.

To all those who love Linux more than Windows, I am with you.

But try using a Raspberry pi as your main computer and you can see why I want to deal with Windows hellhole again.

Currently working on a 2.0 version of a program because I know the 1.0 version will be lame😒

That, and 2.0 makes something actually sound good

Just got the darkest mode on devRant and it’s fucking amazing.

The medium darkness looked so gross that I used the whitess mode until I felt like I was blinded by the light and got the darkest theme instead.

My eyes thank me, my bank account doesn’t.😂

Some people assume that since I am techy that I have a really good laptop or setup.

Nope.

Anyone here worked a whole lot with low level programming?

I have always worked with high level languages like Python and C++, but I’ve also had an interest in working with embedded systems, real close to the metal.

Any directions on where I should go to start learning low level programming? Sites, languages, etc?

Been ‘working’ on this game for the last 5 months now. I love making it but I haven’t gotten any where because there are too many bugs. Like, it’s all bugs.

I started the project when I started learning game development and with all the time I’ve put in it I don’t want to kill it.

Anyone else have a project that they are working on, where they don’t even make progress on it, they just fix bugs?

My boss told me that I should improve my posture since I was slouching. He said girls really dig good posture.

3. I’m a programmer anyway so I’m afraid I’ll need more than good posture to get a girlfriend🤷‍♂️

I was just about home from a long day of work and just blew a tire on my truck. Not flat, blew.

That wasn’t the bad part. I was so excited to get home since I figured out a bug in my code while I was at work that I had been trying to fix for a while now.

By the time I got my tire on, I had no idea how to solve the bug.

I’ve been on devRant for a very short period of time and I’ve seen too many posts about PHP fucking people in the ass.

Is it really that bad?(I’m an embedded systems geek so don’t ask me why I don’t know anything about PHP)

I think dark mode is the best thing ever invented and glad devRant has it, otherwise I would have been blinded by my bright white screen.
