So my local job center had me convert my LaTeX CV into Word format, as apparently PDF is to techy for them.

Please tell me you took a photo of your screen and inserted that into a Word doc. Please.

@Root Definitely the best way. I would not give my C.V. in an editable format to someone who can't even open a PDF.

@Root but isnt that the only way to convert pdf to docx? /s

@ThatPerlDeb The "complete" way of doing it is:

    1. Create the document

    2. Take a picture of said document

    3. Put the picture in Word

    4. Print it

    5. Scan it

    6. Throw the paper away

    7. Send scan of the whole "thing" via email

PS: At this point, no one can really profit from it so "NO".

Recruiters often do that. It's so they can remove your contact details so the employer can't contact you direct, and in some cases so they can rewrite it to better match the job spec. Trouble is many of them are total bastards and will fabricate things.

@snaz Unfortunately, some old people, despite the difficulty of performing certain actions with new technology, have already mastered this way of sharing a document.
