Search - "winblows"
An engineer was working on a windows server. Needed to partition something so typed 'part' in the windows search thingy (windows 10).
Few results found:
Part time working
Engineer: Jesus fucking Christ I just want the FUCKING partitioner, windows what the actual fuck.27
I'm really tired of the comments like "Winblows" or "iShit" or "MicroShit."
Like cool. You don't like a company's product. Congratulations! You're entitled to your own opinion. But try to be less obnoxious it about it please and thanks!18
Unpopular opinion, but I cringe every time someone writes Winblows, Micro$oft, or anything like that50
TLDR: In defense of Powershell - the rant:
I don’t get the Powershell hate.
You don’t hate a screwdriver for not being able to turn a nut, you just *don’t use a screwdriver to turn a nut*
Once you recognize what the tool is good for and you don’t try to use it like Bash, it’s wildly powerful, and satisfying to use in a way Cmd.exe never was.
Cygwin or a Linux Subsystem can only go so far on a Windows computer. You’re dealing with two fundamentally different OS architectures. It makes sense you’d need different tools.
And like it or not, Microsoft owns the non-tech-user desktop , corners the non-tech server business market, and Active Directory is THE tool for managing Windows desktops on a large scale - So Wanblows is not going away anytime soon.
Automation without some weird ass sysVol batch login script is finally possible. Anyone who knows .Net classes can leverage their methods from directly within Powershell. Remote management of headless Windows servers is now a reality. If you have an Office 365 Exchange server you can literally Powershell remote to it for management, just like your favorite cloud hosted Linux distribution.
No one said Windows is a better OS, but an object based shell on an object based OS *makes sense*. It’s useful for its environment. Let it be.12
So my local job center had me convert my LaTeX CV into Word format, as apparently PDF is to techy for them.10
Average linux developer: writes completely fast, optimized code that compiles the first time all via the terminal. He doesn't care.
Also average linux developer: decides to call it Winblows instead of Windows in an attempt to get more people to use linux. He feels like a genius.28
When will Linux shall triumph over the desktop market?
I hate to see games and software being developed only for Winblows and MacPrison.
Why don't some company make a normie-friendly distro and heavily support it, same as Google did with Android, but for desktops?11
I fucking hate the Safari browser to death.
This piece of disk space waste is 50% of the reason why I have to spend hours to find out what the fuck is incorrectly displaying or not working on W.I.P. websites.
The other 50% is Edge, IE <=11 and Firefucks.
Just for piss smelling Safari, I need to either run a VM with Crapple OS X for debugging or borrow a Crapbook from $randomPerson.
Is it fucking not possible to compile Safari blowser to run on Linux or Winblows?
Eventhough I'm disgusted about Google and its privacy and data mining policies, Chrome is the most decent browser there is on the whole digital world. It only happens extremely rarely that something is not working/displaying as expected during development.
Most browser developers seem to be useless pubes eaters and like to shower with curd soap.13
You know what's worse than fixing websites in IE?
Fixing websites in safari for winblows.
What the fuck?
My Witcher 3 save state has vanished.
I didn't delete that!
What the actual fuck?
All I want for Christmas is.... for Windows 10 search bar to respond and work in a reasonable amount of time and not suck so much.4
Windows asks to update. I say no and 10min later i get this casual update continuing.
Glad i have a say in life8
Fuck android studio updates, fuck OpenGL libraries, fuck nvidia graphics on Linux, fuck it all to hell.
These bullshit updates keep breaking stuff in apps, and then the emulator itself gets broken somehow, then I need to run a bullshit shell script I found on some esoteric Arch Linux forum to symlink OpenGL .so libraries on my Linux machine every time I update because fucking OpenGL and nvidia crappy drivers on Linux, which also broke my xrandr configs and segfaulted the xfce4-display app.
Seriously that's horseshit. Linux will never ever ever break through the glass ceiling and become idiot-proof non-tech user friendly like the botnets Winblows and macPrison.8
Ever since I installed Winblows 10 Anniversary edition, my laptop is slower to boot and bluescreens once a week.
Windows: if your system is fast and reliable, don't worry, we'll fix that for you.4
Best: completely switching to (void)-Linux and leaving winblows behind me in the dirt.
Worst: everything else3
I changed the email on my Microsoft account, and this happened.
Clicking on "I forgot my pin" sends a code to my old email that's NOT LINKED TO THE ACCOUNT, so it fails to verify the code.
Aka this is not fixable. I have to reinstall Winblows XD because of non-profectionist fuckbags at Microsoft. I'd use Linux entirely if it's software didn't suck, and I'm too broke to get a Mac. Fuck Windows! Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck9
Anyone else stuck with Winblows for the moment and want a killer minimal wallpaper? I made this yesterday and I'm pretty happy with it.
I have been using OSX Mojave, ever since the app store released it. I must say, I like the dark theme. I wish that my Windows desktop would have a working dark theme... but it's nice that now two of my three operating systems have a dark theme.12
Just started a java update on my sisters laptop. Doing some cleaning up and basic Winblows maintenance. Damn, a lot of updates. Haven't seen chrome that old
Microsoft downloaded updates and is waiting to restart. So afraid when I do it will screw up Grub and I will be stuck with Windows all day.
I booted into it to to do a C# program really quickly now I am afraid it won't let me leave!3
Everytime I boot into winblows and back into linux my sound quits working. Yet nothing wrong with the drivers, it shows sound output, seems to be hardware switch somewhere really. because everything shows sound works.
I turn off for 5 minutes and boot into linux and all is good.
I guess I am wiping Windows completely. Work can figure out what to do with the computer if I ever leave. But for now it is mine.5
PnP on Windows stands for pee and poop. Because anything that comes pre-installed there is just that.1
FUCK FUCK FUCK Windows share feature
just fuck it !
and fuck the people who made it!!!44
ok calm mode on
I had to copy a 30 gb file from my computer to my sister's one, and since the largest pendrive I have is 8gb, and I'm just lazy to split the file into parts, I thought it would be a great idea to copy it over LAN. (tldr: it's not)
Right click on file and share it with everyone = fail
Enable network discovery in sharing settings = still fail
Ohh, right, I just forgot it, disable firewall, it usually solves everything = still fail (2)
Google the problem and try every possible solution = still fking fail
Ok, when last time I had the same problem, I made a homegroup and it worked.
Let's enable it on my Win10 = it's missing
After some googling: "We removed the home group feature from Windows 10, because why not and we would be fired if the change log was empty."
Ok, fuck it.
Download a portable FTP server.
Create an account.
Nedded to install Microshaft Winblows on my shitbook for a class, but damn parallels, the integration u got is very nice2
OMG. This weekend, there is Rainbow Six Siege free to play on Steam. I have a desktop PC, but I can't get it to work. Tried Ubi support, but they give shit. So...I was hoping, I could finally try this crap game on my laptop. And here we go...
Normally, I use Linux. Only Linux, because Windows 10 on my laptop is extremely fucking painful. I knew it's going to be torture to install that game on it, but whatever.
OK, firstly, I was surprised, that Windows booted in just about 1 minute. I was like wtf just happened. Everything seemed to be fine and working. I downloaded uPlay, installed it and tried to install the game. Just to be clear, this rant is written from Linux again. And why?
Because FUCKING WINBLOWS desides to FUCKING UPDATE WIFI DRIVERS. 1 minute - internet works, second fucking minute - WIFI IS FUCKING DOWN. Thanks fucking pussy Gates. I really like you. And use this crap daily. Holy shit I would die...2
Yes Microsoft I clearly want a fucking Korean Windows iso after entering in my English product key from England on a page written in English. Absolute fucking garbage just microshaft continuing to force us onto winblows 104
Update on the BSoD of my previous rant. Guess what? I STILL HAVEN'T FUCKING FIXED IT.
As a Unix operation system user (MacOS primary, Ubuntu Linux secondary) I have never experienced ANY of the problems I am currently experiencing. I mean, seriously, every time I went into sleep/hibernation mode on Windows, IT WOULD FUCKING BSoD ME! I tried reinstalling it, disassembling the computer and making sure that the hardware is fine, AND IT STILL WOULDN'T WORK.
And for the final step, I booted from a live Ubuntu USB to check if this is truly a hardware or a software problem. I booted in successfully, started up a few built in apps and went to sleep. I made sure that all of the fans turned off and that the computer was silent. I let it sit for five minutes and then turned it back on. It turned on just fine. Prognosis: definitely a problem with Windows.
My plan currently is to COMPLETELY erase my 500GB SSD using my live Ubuntu USB and reinstall using Live Windows USB. If that does not work... I will be officially giving up on the Microsoft Windows Operating System for good.
And what is the reason why a Mac/Linux person is trying to get Windows on the PC tower that his uncle gave him? I wanted to install some old games which only work on Windows and on nothing else. I have never been successful with Wine. It was either laggy or never worked. If any of you can help me here, here's the crash code the BSoD gave me: DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE.
P.S: I am typing this message from the Live USB. I don't know why I had to say this, but I had.7
To the people who so blindly hate apple: Name my other choices...
Winblows is a bloated system with no real package manager, i can't stop their endless updates, it gets viruses so easily, that you have to install an antivirus, and i hate their flat design, and linux is for haX0r kids who wanna look cool, it's just not practical for personal use.15
Last night i sat down at 6pm to free up some disk space on /boot, because i didnt properly size it months ago on first installation.
5:20am i close my laptop with a fresh install, and no more WinBlows.
Didnt set out to do it, but Im not mad that it happened.
Found the Intelligence windows uses for update
if user.working() == True:
windows should be renamed to winblows2
I have a Windows 10 installation on my laptop...
A few weeks back my father bought an SSD for his Lenovo ThinkPad T500. Problem was - I couldn't install Windows on that laptop due to legacy BIOS (the T500 is old but gold). My solution was that I put the SSD into my eSATA portable HDD / SSD rack, and I installed Windows to the SSD on my laptop. It worked, but now, when I boot up my laptop it always asks which Windows do I want to boot up (only one Windows is present - the other throws an error). I switched the defaults, and now it boots up fine, but that choice really slows down my usually fast SSD boot (it has a 10 second timer before automatically chosing the default option).
How can I reconfigure it?
Or is it only possible by a clean install?4
A single fucking NuGet package is missing in release mode. That’s the only goddamn explanation I have and it makes no sense. Why the FUCK does ACR.UserDialogs only get compiled in Debug mode?!
God I fucking HATE UWP.1
For those who keep complaining about winblows and microshit, just know that windows is highly customizable (registry).
Look here for some tips: https://howtogeek.com/howto/37920/...
It's for win 7 but many should still work for win 105
So I decided to install windows 10 and I'll use it for quite some time. I want to make it as usable as possible.
So, does any of you know how to permanently remove all those shit apps that pop up in my start menu?
And how to remove Cortana and Edge?
I'll be thankful for any help D:1
