Lead told me to design a database.
When finished asks me to take a look at the old, poorly designed database and make changes to the new one.
I mean, what's the point in that?

Old design might have some lessons to learn in there.

Or just some useful things that you may not have considered yet in the new design.

    Doesn't hurt to check.

@spl0 indeed it doesn't hurt, but if a database is designed considering the system needs, it would be OK.
Actually what I discovered in the old database was the presence of 3 completely useless tables, with a lot of data nobody needs. Not even the people in charge of the old system knew why they did that haha

Well at least you checked and you have a good response for the lead.
