You do NOT need college for a job.

You do not know what a pyramid scheme is...

College is worthwhile. College as private enterprise is utterly fucked.

@koin For a job. 'As' was not a condition.

Also, Tom Hanks never tweeted this. Or if he did, he didn't believe it enough to leave it up.

Privatized, overpriced education is the problem.

It wasn't a major problem until relatively recently, and there were private schools for a long, long time before that.

In my opinion, the proliferation of debt culture, combined with the cancerous spread of the nonsense notion that you're not a serious adult without a college degree. This has caused education to be priced to match very large loans, instead of the competition-based market on which it used to be based.

Another adverse effect is that since people are being told that they have to go to college, we as a society have fewer skilled laborers than any time in our history. Plumbers, electricians, welders, mechanics, and other skilled laborers can write their own ticket, since there are so few of them left.

@SukMikeHok so basically, you are astonished that ou have to invest in order to make profit?

Yeah.. good that economy 101 was taught in my tech degree, too.

It's not the same amount of money being spent on college and earned from a job. The latter is higher. That's why people take loans.

that's not even close to what a pyramid scheme is. a scheme for sure, but not a pyramid scheme.

Collage education is free. So why should it be a scam.

    Hello,

I didn't see any scams at college.

The main cheaters are students and nothing more.

    @HarryPrice

Credit card companies giving away swag with new cards. That's a scam.

Well, for me it's not a scam for sure. I see the results of my education, so I'm positive about it

Well, many people now are disappointed in colleges, but for me, it's not a scam for sure. I'm a student, and have never regretted my decision

I don't think that there is something scammy about college or any other educational institution. First of all, not every person has to go there and study - there are jobs which don't require a full 4-year degree. So it's up to you to decide after school graduation. Of course, education is not free, but it has been like this for years. To be honest, I have no idea how it's possible to change the situation, but it's good that there are scholarships or other programs. I'm a third-year student, and I can say that I'm not disappointed that I decided to go to uni. It's not always an easy process, and I can be stressed, but there are always options. For example, I sometimes use https://essay-company.org/ when it comes to writing tasks. I can have too many tasks to do, and I use some processional help when I see that I'm failing. And it helps me not to fail some classes and be able to learn all the theoretical information I need for the classes and for the future.
