I am having a problem. I've started to realize I don't know fucking anything about programming, what are some suggestions for either relearning things or learning more. Cuz I feel pointless rn :)

    Learn _one_ thing. And get really fucken good at it.

    But something which acutally processes forward and is used not only for rename-scripts.
    What I want to say: don't do python because it's easy. Do Javascript because it's trending and will stay a trend for a whole fucken while.

    Maybe go back to basics. Programming logic, object oriented paradigm, to build a solid foundation. And practice as much as you can.

    @2nd2NULL man if only.

    @nanl I kinda want to try that, I am looking to go into game development as a career. Do I make a game? Do I learn something new? What would you suggest I learn if that's what I want to do?

    @nitwhiz thank you 💙

    Join us at the next programming meeting, and pay attention?

    @ewpratten Could you just be more of an asshole?

    @hyperlisk I don't know much about game development, but in this case, I would use an online course as a first step. Then, you can select what are the most essential topics to learn before you can build your first game, and improve your knowledge and skills from that.

    @hyperlisk I agree paying attention at programming meetings on the programming team would probably help you with your programming abilities. @ewpratten has a good point

    Build shit. Easiest way to get rid of impostor syndrome. As long as you can build the shit you want to, it doesn't matter what you know or don't know.

    @hashedram exactly building shit is best to brush up skills.

    I just love how no one mentioned that feeling like being bad at programming is an extremely normal step to learning programming. Anyone who says they haven't felt this way are lying out of their ass. Try to build something simple and then raise the difficulty step by step. You'll get your self esteem back, no worries :D
