What, your friend would have to initiate the domain transfer from his customer account with his reseller or wherever he ordered the domain.

It would be a big security hole for hostile takeover if they allowed another hoster to call in and say "hey now I'm hosting the domain, guys".

And ICANN blocks domain transfer for 60 days after the last transfer or initial registration. That's not possible to do even with customer account.

Or do I miss somethig in the picture?

@Fast-Nop all I know is that the guys on call (GoDaddy) made it very clear that the domain is eligible for transfer without any charge

I left godady last month, over priced and their interface was riddled with dark practice UI, so fuck them
