Got my first rejection after my first job interview via e-Mail today. It was about a local webhosting company.
I feel a little bit sad about it, but I am glad that I have made this experience with them and hope that I can use this experience to better myself in future job interviews.

What bothers me the most is that they told me in the mail that they are sad to send that rejection mail to a friendly and warm person like me, but they do not give a clean explanation why they had to reject me.
Was it because of someone better than me? Am I not qualified enough? What is the reason ffs?

I have send them a mail back mentioning that I am thankful for the conversation we have had, but also asking for the reason of the rejection.

I do not think that they will reply me back, but I hope they will.

@Biggy It depends.. if they gave a direct reason, then that's that of course.

If they didn't, but the conversation went good, it's debatable if you should or not, and what to ask for exactly.

One time I asked to be updated when a new position would be available and 2 months later I was working there :)

Nobody gives a rejection reason anymore these days because that involves serious legal risk.

@Biggy why Not asking for the reject reason? There ist nothing wrong about this. Its your damn right to do so, you have nothing to loose and you might get usefull feedback

THEY HAVE REPLIED ME BACK! YEAYYY!

Their reason was that there was a small gap to fill in with devs. To that comes that a huge amount of candidates have applied there. They have had a "hard" time choosing the candidates.

At least now I know the reason. Time to thank them for replying me.

Always have your hopes up, fellas. :)
