I threw a ketchup bottle at Chad...

To prevent this I went to college and started a career in programming. Haven't burned out since.

Thankfully I never reached the point of a fullblown burn-out, but coming close was enough to change my work habits.
I try to take more short pauses during the day and from the moment I come home I don't read work emails nor continue working.
I just sit in my comfortable armchair for some 30 minutes and either read a book, turn some rubiks cubes or watch a tv series. Sometimes accompanied by a few drops of a good old single malt whiskey.
My sanity and quality of life has improved greatly!
