You know you are broke when you lower video quality not because of internet but to reduce the suffering of your 8 year old laptop and dying hdd.

@growling i am looking for upgrade but i am unable to justify the need ,my work laptop is beefier, had a macbook air gifted it to my brother, its quite odd that i find joy in optimizing old hardware, the current one is a latitude from 2010 still running kubuntu 18.04 does a decent job.
