How is it that after restarting... and updating Windows I go from 10GB free (no idea how it got so low) to 39GB free... and apparently that doesn't include the 27GB that Windows.old takes up?

And why does it thinking deleting all files in Downloads is cleanup...

    The Downloads folder was always meant to be a (temporary) location where you move your downloaded files from.

    @PonySlaystation If you could say that again for some of my colleagues that keep file in there from 2015 along the usual new file, new file (1), ... New file (20). I would love it.

    Please.

    Got a lot of space too, I guess Microsoft has made some cleaning this time 🤔
    For download thenew cleaning assistant can suppress old files after some day, I disabled it, I'm the kind of guy who use the download folders like any normal folders 😈

    @@osx94 how to disable?

    @PonySlaystation what about ISOs and stuff you want to keep as backup? Why bother moving it to another folder?

    @billgates
    Parameter → system →storage → storage assistant settings → delete file from download folders after x days set to never

    I use Windows in french so I don't have the exact name but I think you will find your way 😉

    Maybe you were dual booting and it deleted your Linux partition? It's a common issue
