If I have to explain git to another person who has worked in software for several years, I’m picking up a chainsaw.
It’s okay if you’ve just started, it’s not if you’re building code for a decade.

    Totally depends on the company though. Like where I am one of the exec has a bug up his ass about not using git so if you've never worked in IT and learned purely from on the job training, you could easily make 10 years here without knowing
