there is nothing junior than a junior developer. it is entry level. I do not have a background in cs still I code and I learned from others. there are few things more important than coding like clean code, functional programming , art of fishing instead of getting spoon feed etc.
good luck , learn as much as possible, dont get afraid and welcome to the club. -
drRoss48808yOften companies like hiring junior developers because they can mould them into the developers they want them to be, so embrace it.
Developers can pick up bad habits over time, you're a fresh pair of eyes, so take the opportunity to do it right. -
neumann6618yyou learn coding by doing not from books or classes, certificates and degrees cannot substitute experience and a great portfolio. hopefully they have a good team there and good role models/ mentors for you... start building a great portfolio and gaining exp as soon as you can
good luck enjoy the ride -
Don't worry. I'm doing it for 20 years now and never stop learning. Have fun!

to be honest it depends on your workplace. I was hired as a junior developer, my senior developer quit, I instantly had to sink or swim and take the lead role as our team consisted of two UI designers and another junior developer. I having the most Javascript experience was told swim or lose my job. hopefully this won't be your case and you will have a great first experience. Just work hard and remember to update the project file and you'll be fine.

1binary06608yDon't worry much, it's highly possible that next few months can go hard on you, keep patience.
Pro Tip: Befriend the best developer in your project, spend more time with him, ask him every tiny question that you have, also google it before and after asking. Don't be ashamed of asking and worried if you'll annoy him.
I didn't even know what JSON or Google developer console was before joining the company, and in 1 year I was already a full stack developer with 1 app in play store.
All the best. -
Imposter syndrome is common. I was hewn from marble by the gods for my current mid-level position and I still feel it except when I'm truly busy.

thanks for all the advice everyone!!! I think I'd be a twit not to take it. I'm signing the offer letter today.
I just got offered my first position for a Junior developer gig. they are offering me more money than I expected and otherwise I'm super amped to take it.
what makes me nervous is its my first programming position. I have an IT/Programming bachelor's but not a pure Computer Science degree.
I was asked no technical questions and I don't know if it was clear that I'm very much looking for entry-level work. I guess the fear of failure is creeping up on me.
