i wonder what would be the circumstances which lead to evolution of the most meek , fruit eating creatures (monkey) into the smartest, flesh eating carnivore (humans).

Did they just felt comfortable walking on 2 feet instead of 4?was this just an idea of some curious group of monkeys?

Imagine if in a parallel universe, their are lions who came up with this idea...and
Behold, in a parallel universe instead of us ,big vegan monster lion-humans are reading this post.(Vegan because why not?Its evolution)

Being able to cook our meals contributed a lot to the development of our brain.

Humans didn't evolve from monkeys. Us and the primates have a common ancestor, that's all. Nobody is sure when exactly the LCA (last common ancestor) lived, or what characteristics it had, but yeah. You might be interested in looking up characteristics of the old apes, australopithecus and ardipithecus and so on.

As for changes in diet, that's largely an environmental factor.

If you want more information (such as on the evolution of bipedalism vs the old quadrupedalism, diet changes, what we know about the development of intelligence and old societies, evolutionary history, etc.) I can suggest reading Humans: From the Beginning by Christopher Seddon (long and very detailed book) and Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Harari (much easier to read).

From what I can remember walking on 2 legs helped us see over the tall grass in Africa.
