results798y@edisonn I am in the north eastern region of the US. I could share my resume with you through email; but bear in mind, I AM a beginner, and the college I went to had very little help in terms of jobs/resume/placement.
What do you mean by, "what are you doing?"
If I understand correctly, I generally do Front End Work (HTML, CSS, SCSS, jQuery)... but I do know a little backend (PHP, SQL). -
results798y@edisonn I do have one. If I remember correctly, it's on the second file I sent you. If not, I will gladly email you the profile.

tahnik387598yCan you write down all the skills you have here? That will help us to check if you've got all the skills necessary. Some skills are really small but really makes a lot of difference some time
-
results798y@Jumpshot44 I have been using Stack Overflow, Indeed, Monstor, Beyond, newspapers (local area isn't really all that big at posting IT jobs in the newspaper).
-
results798y@tahnik I have a lot of soft skills that I've gained working as a waitress/cashier/busser/order taker.
So, other than being concientous(?), I am fairly decent at problem solving, have an aptitude for learning new things rather well if I understand the abstract ideas behind it, and I continously try to learn things about the industry every day.
I am familiar with basic languages such as HTML5, CSS3, PHP5/7, SCSS/Less, basic jQuery and JavaScript (there wasn't enough emphasis here), basic AJAX, JSON, Python and Java.
Are there other skills that I might have that I haven't mentioned? Probably. -
tahnik387598y@results Looks like you've got some solid skills. Let me point out couple of things:
Do you have a website that you can use as a portfolio? If not create one and host it in a cheap hosting service. Make sure you highlight all your skills in there.
Most of the recruiters will expect you to have some knowledge about version controls. Do you know git? If not then learn using GitHub and add it to your CV.
Do you know any front end frameworks? Getting a front end dev job with only HTML, CSS, JS and Jquery will be very difficult. If you know bootstrap or Foundation mention that.
To stand out a little bit, you need learn one front end framework. The most popular ones are Angular or React. Do you know about MVC architecture?
Now before you learn these frameworks, you'll need to learn NodeJS.
NodeJS itself can make your CV very heavy. I received 5 Job offers in London when I added NodeJS and React in my skill list.
Learning a little bit about MySQL can help. But not that necessary. -
results798yI do have a web portfolio, and i maintain it, and made it from scratch / with framework.
I know both Foundation and Bootstrap, but I don't know Angular, nor React.
I get the jist of the MVC controller to an extent.
I do understand Git, primarily from command line only, but I do have the desktop App.
Also, I do know SQL fairly well. I'd say I'm proficient at it, but not an expert. -
tahnik387598y@results You're fine if you know git from command line. No need for the git GUI.
Learn nodeJS and then learn either Angular or React. They are different at what they do but any of them will help to make your CV shine.
While you are learning node and frameworks, you need to shine some light on your portfolio. Make a linkedIn profile if you don't have already. Add all your skills and projects. Connect with as much recruiter as possible and keep in touch with them.
Good luck -
What is the closest major city. I'm in Boston, MA. There are some local recruiting companies here that are good

Fellow Devs,
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I am at a loss. I have applied to several Front-End jobs, both local, and remote. I have personal projects on my portfolio, and I offer to do "homework," that's been assigned while applying for a job. I am currently learning Python, but I don't have a project up with that.
Any suggestions?
