@olback the screens are generic Samsung 1080p so they are cheap. Don't have any left anymore because 5 of them broke before deployment :) so I needed to replace them :)
-
Looks really great, how did you end up making it? each of them is mapped across a virtual mesh together with the degree, position and size it is attached in the real model?
-
@JoshBent that's how the video content is made by a friend of mine... I did the programming part sync, networking, and the Backend with Cms where you can switch the content.
-
@iNCEPTiON is there more insight on how he exactly does it and what he uses? it's one of the projects I really got excited about when I've seen it back then haha
-
Is the installation in Vienna? Judging by the streetsigns it looks to be at least in Austria.
-
@JoshBent I will try to upload a Making of video the next couple days, but if you have any questions to the code or tech stack or the hardware I can help you with that
-
@iNCEPTiON I am interested in every single bit that comes to your mind really haha
-
@irene of course the reddit Internet detectives could do that but I'm not going to post it. :)
-
@iNCEPTiON oh right, just noticed two monitors per NUC haha - how much did the project materials (nucs, monitors, ..) cost and how much was the project total? if you don't mind telling of course.
-
@JoshBent sure np :) the hardware was about 38.000€ and the Software part was about 50.000€ before you ask we where 4 people working on it 2 People for the video content and 2 coders
-
@iNCEPTiON oh, so quite close to what I expected actually. I don't quite remember, was it just some art installation or will it be actually the center of attention of the clients space? would be amazing for sure as the center of e.g. the entry hall.
-
@JoshBent exactly it is the center of attention of the clients office of course the sphere will not run 8h because of the people working there :) only if customers at the office
-
@iNCEPTiON that's very impressive and definitely an eye catcher, well done! tag me if you upload more info or making of's!
