My phone is fucking hot.

I mean, nearly hand-burning hot.

Google services seem to be the cause, but disabling it... doesn't cool down the shit phone at all. Destroys a 1 amp charger. Tried uninstalling it and updating it again... nope!

Been doing this since this morning, no updates yesterday or anything - weird. It started when Inbox would keep crashing, even after a restart.

Time to change phone?

Apple downthrottles its phones to attract customers to newer products.

Samsung (I assume? :) ) -- runs a wild process to either set a phone on fire or make the device simply unusable to attract cash to newer products...

    seems legit :)

Completely wipe your phone and install new distro maybe?

    apt purge google*

If it is getting really hot it might be a firmware/kernal level or a hardware problem. It should shutdown when it gets hot enough to be a danger to it'self.

Does it only happen while charging? Also how do restarts effect it?

@Schroedinbug it calmed down since it knows I'm gonna replace it very very soon (today after work :D). Though it did not shut down... Aluminium case, must help a lot with the heat spread

but no, restarting had no effect whatsoever, and if the screen is on while charging it would deplete itself, even with a 2A charger...

@Phlisg Recent firmware upgrade? Seems like a pretty annoying problem.
