Wow. Can't access a news article in an incognito tab without logging in or subscribing. This happened in Firefox and Chrome in mobile and desktop views on Android.

If the check is client-side you may be able to bypass it by blocking js

@maushax I don't use chrome so idk but Firefox Focus can disable js from settings -> privacy and security.
On chrome you can probably get an add on like nojs

@exelix @maushax I'm using regular Chrome and Firefox (not focus). I disabled js in the site settings in Chrome and it worked. I think for Firefox, I would need to change a config or get an add-on to disable js. It wasn't an important article so I'm not going to do any of that.

You can’t definitively identify incognito mode, but browsers do prevent the FileSystem API from being used in incognito, which you could run a check against to see if it’s available and cross reference with user agent to see if it should be available.

I use Brave browser on my phone. Blocks most trackers and javascript.
