Oh, you are gonna FUCKING LOVE the speeds you'll be able to get on that drive. Plus I've heard very good things about Samsung's NVMe drives

Just don't use the built in encryption. It's compromised and not patched as of yet, iirc. Besides, using proprietary encryption is always a bad idea.

dejaime3516yOh, it's a great piece of hardware. Assuming you didn't overpay for it, you'll be pleased. I got a (much crappier) SSD for my Linux installation and I am satisfied.

M.2 SSD Samsung 970 EVO (NVMe 1.3):
250GB : ~75€
500GB : ~130€
1000GB: ~260€
2000GB: ~520€
Prices are from alternate.de, a german online store. Your local one might have different prices. -
@irene I have two 860 EVO 1000GB (1xmSATA + 1xSATA) in my Laptop. The difference to one 1000GB hard drive is astounding!
Only thing is, that the whole machine is silent all the time. I see the HDD access LED flashing, but hear nothing. That still catches me off guard sometimes...
Just ordered meself a 970 evo 500gb.
I hope I'm not regretting this.
