"I don’t care if you’re a billionaire. If you haven’t started a company, really gambled your resume and your money and maybe even your marriage to just go crazy and try something on your own, you’re no pirate and you aren’t in the club." - Michael Arrington

    Most billionaires probably have.

@Root 7 out of 10 billionaires say they inherited the fortune

@yatanvesh Assuming that's true, it doesn't preclude them from doing the above. Most rich people have invested most of their time, effort, and capital on business ventures that succeeded. That's why they're rich: they saw opportunity and put in enough effort and dedication to make it succeed.

@Root as far as i know and without having numbers, most rich people are rich because their parents were rich. Money comes in dynasties, the roots go back to some lucky chap who stole, betrayed or actually worked hard to get where he was..and then his ancestors werent total buffons so the money stuck. There are not many legal ways to get rich yourself, and most of them involve serious gambles. Best the average chap can do is making sure their kids get some better education and the grand kids might get to greatness. Maybe.

@BurnoutDV Thankfully that is not true 😊

I don't have numbers either, though.
