In the middle of dumbing down my smartphone. This whole ecosystem thing got out of control privacy-wise. Thus, I’m deleting pretty much everything but the browser and the chat app my friends and I use. No photos sync, no cloud, no passwords sync, no sync period. If you seize or otherwise compromise my phone, you ain’t getting very far into my defenses.

Why are you so paranoid about it? I'm sure everyone has a video of a horse fucking a human on their phone. You're not weird.

@tamagotchi because I know what a zero day is. Also, my phone no longer gets security updates

Time to make a decentralized encrypted wrapper with a new protocol on top of the internet.
I don't trust either vpn or tor tbh

@kiki yeah, i'm sure you're on top of the list to hack when a zero day thingy comes :P

@tamagotchi that’s not the only way they’re being used. There are people that try common attacks, as well as discovered zero-days, against the whole IP range. I see them in my server’s logs every single day. Among millions of devices they try, a couple will give in. They’re filter feeders, like blue whales that use their sieve teeth to sift through tons of water every day, looking for plankton.

In this day and age, the vast majority of cyber attacks happen automatically. You don’t have to be important to get sophisticated attack methods used against your devices.
