And if someone is wondering, that's not a joke.

I sent a screenshot of a validation process to the customer as an example to approve.

They checked it two days later and said it's wrong, stuff that has expired two days ago is shown as valid *facepalm*

people expect things they see to be klickable. Use something like www.invisionapp.com or www.marvelapp.com to make prototypes.

We had a client take us to court over this. We had ample documentation stating that this was just a preview.

We were awarded full costs of the contract after they bailed.

    So dumb.

@heyheni What's the point of working on a website when they don't like the design in the first place?! I will obviously give them a working demo once they approve the basic design in the first place...

because when you do smaller steps and test your ideas earlier you've got less work and happier customers?

@fattymiller oooh, sweet justice. I would like to do this any time: get a really dumb client, make a preview, let the dumb client take it court because they are dumb, get all my money without doing the actual work, profit XD

Gotta make a mock-up for school what software do you use?
  • 0
@xlindsay That depends. There are many ways and lots of tools to do a mockup.
So what experience do you have already and what are the requirements to that mockup?

    do you own a mac?

@heyheni I just need to mock interfaces ( have pictures for project) and I do own a Mac

Use Adobe XD, its free and multiple platform..

@sisurya what? Adobe won't make the buttons in your JPEG hyperlink to different pages...

@heyheni if that‘s what I think it is then: DON‘T!
If the client receives a clickable mockup he thinks the app is done already and cries like a baby when you tell him it‘s not

@LuPaw don't do it in color then and communicate clearly.

use something like www.balsamiq.com or www.axure.com

    @sisurya @heyheni

Adobe for webdesign? That is what people used a decade ago. Sketch is also sooo last year. The latest hipster tool for prototyping is Invision.

Although @LuPaw has a point. Only send sketches made with pencil on a cafeteria napkin.
