In my opinion the only reason for not having females in software field is the because of not having proper documentation for a developer and an engineer. Most people doesnt even know the difference. Most of the times the documentation is engineering level which makes it difficult for women to catch up.
-
@arunkumar413 So you're saying women have a harder time reading engineering level documentation?
-
hashr8106yI guess the reason for less female attendance is that they hesitate to attend such events alone. They prefer to attend them with someone like a friend. In comparison guys are less concerned if they have a companion to attend with or not.
-
@ScriptCoded yes, but they can be good developers as they are naturally creative minded. The documentation should be like a recipe making.
-
@arunkumar413 Why would that be? What would make a woman significantly worse at learning than a man? Are you saying they're only good at cooking?
-
They're good at creative things. Of course cooking and receipe making are part of creative things. The documentation and software libraries are not well abstracted and are not intitutive. Don't document the anatomy of a potato plant when all you want to teach is making French fries.
