				Yep, I've lost count how many times I've had to explain to my family that studying computer science doesn't help me fix their damn printer

				@adamdwalker It's interesting that the notion (programmer == computer fixing guy) is so common. I've met programmers who were real code ninjas but couldn't fix the simplest problem with their PC 😉

				@kwerdenker yeah, I have a reasonable understanding of hardware but that's only from my own interest. I guess since it has the word 'computer' in the name they can't wrap their heads around how there might be more to computers than troubleshooting a printer

				Personally I wouldn't count this to be the worse part after all I love helping my parents out in stuff. Then again, if a friend of my dad or some one I don't personally know asks me to fix their computer, that's a different story.

I hold two degrees in computer science/engineering and to this day, whenever I have to help my dad with any computer related stuff, he *always* says:
"Good thing we let you study this stuff!"
Yeah, right dad. Fixing your windows problems is exactly what I learned in university 😒
