When I started my job a year ago, I felt impostor syndrome. Now I think everyone around me is a fucking moron and I'm an elite programmer.

Am I just an asshole, or has my journey with this company expired?

The latter, if you're not in a constant state of fear ur not furthering your career

If you're paid enough to do what you want in your personal time and don't hate your job, it's not such a bad thing to stay. If you care more about perfecting your craft than feeling like you're at the top of the heap, it sounds like you already know the answer. It's far easier to grow when you're surrounded by people on or above your level.

... and if you're really not the hot shit you seem to think, you'll find out quickly enough :P

Yeah... Imposter syndrome should last longer then that!

@ThomasRedstone should it last your entire career?

@whiskey0 not constantly, but you should always feel you have plenty left to learn

Congratulations you’ve made the transition to a cynical old fart, the final stage in developer metamorphosis.

    …like a beautiful programming butterfly.

Can't say if it's the right move for you or not, but I like the saying:

"If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room."
