retoor9402dWe should refuse buying products of such prices before they become the standard. How can we still do 16gb ram and 256GB disk for product priced like that. What is actually the manufacturing costs difference between 16gb RAM and 128gb ram? Same of the disk. Isn't it all artificial pricing?
Also, I doubt if there will be market for such big things on the head. I think we've experienced it by now. 550 gramms is kinda nice tho.
I'm just not a big fan after buying quest2. The tech is nice, but the comfii isn't that great and having such device on feels isolated, too disconncted with the world to be comfortable.
Just my 13.37 cents. -
On a somewhat related note, I know Steam can freeze the OS, too. In fact I am afflicted by the issue, explaining how I know about it.
I've seen enough posts about this:
- https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/... ,
- https://steamcommunity.com/discussi... .
Well, for me disabling Hardware Acceleration in Steam Client's settings worked as a workaround. -
I‘d bet my ass that the issue is not android studio or steam but actually Windows.

reyivo017hYup, it's very unlikely that Android Studio can do anything to prevent the issue, since only Windows is affected.
But you can actually do something about it: stop developing software for Linux platform on Windows. We've seen the amazing quality of WSL. I wouldn't expect more here.
ps. Android Studio in fact comes from Jetbrains, not Google. -

I'm sure most of us are aware.
> 'Yup, it's very unlikely that Android Studio can do anything to prevent the issue, since only Windows is affected.'
W/o knowing the root cause, we can't really blame the OS or say that Android Studio can't be patched.

That's a bad way of looking at this. So some people like using Windows for whatever reason, why !let them develop things using the OS, too?

It all makes sense now...
So I'm reading the documentation of the newest thing from Google: the Android Studio XR. There, they mention that there's an emulator available.
...by the emulator there's this _interesting_ info box that reads: 'Caution: In rare cases, using the emulator can result in system freezes or crashes on some Windows configurations. Please ensure all data is saved before running the emulator. As a workaround, enable WHPX. See release notes for more known issues.'
Holy fuck. Those are some _very_ major problems that may arise from using it. Congrats... on that failure, of course.
They should definitely patch it soon.
Anyway, source here: https://developer.android.com/devel... .
