Hello VPN gurus,

Which VPN service should I buy?

I just wanna access Hulu and similar content with country restrictions.

Currently using ProtonVPN free plan. But to watch Hulu, I'll have to upgrade their $8/mth plan.

So if I have to buy something, I wanna hear some recommendations and feedbacks before doing so.

Thank you.

Spin up new digitalocean droplet with IPsec vpn. Connect to it. Destroy it when you are done. There is a no brainer tool for that:
    http://dovpn.carlfriess.com/

Even if you decide to not destroying droplet and keep vpn service on 7/24 it wont cost you more than 5$/mo. If you destroy and recreate when you need, it almost costs nothing!

P.s: I can give you my ref link for free 10$ credit if you dont have digitalocean account yet.

For paid VPN my go-to is Mullvad (https://www.mullvad.net/en/).
    - No logs
    - Many payment options
    - Support Wireguard
    - etc.

If you don't want to pick this one, I suggest looking into one that is outside the US or any other 5 eyes countries, and no log, of course. Besides that, checking where their servers are and what average speed they offer is also important.

I'm using my own personal VPN servers because I don't care about anonymity (I'd use Tor for that) but I do care about security (which I can tweak on my servers as much as I desire), and most importantly whether logs are kept and shared. Being the operator of my own VPN servers, I can make sure that those logs are taken care of properly. So yeah.. by all means make your own!

    @hack @Condor @Jilano

    Thanks guys.
I'll check the own server process on DO. Many of my clients projects are on DO maybe I should just install my VPN secretly at one of those droplets 😛

Proton is free so you might as well give it a try. And of course you can still host your own

@Yvan true, but it matters where your server is...all cheap shits are in germany and that is a no-go for VPN lol
