Can we talk about Google Allo for a second?

What the everloving f*ck, Google? I don't get it. You built a perfectly solid, pretty chat app with lots of neat features and interesting ideas. And then you ruin it by completely neutering SMS support.

Here's (roughly) what your recipient gets when you message someone who isn't on Allo:

(Allo)(Name): <message> Send STOP to stop Allo messages. Download Allo here: <shortlink>

iMessage figured out SMS integration three f*cking years ago, how could you guys have messed this up so bad?

    @Jase it supports SMS in that Google is behaving as an SMS "relay". But it's not going to transparently drop to SMS and behave like a normal fucking messaging app like iMessage does.

    I'm just concerned about the fact that more purple are yet again going to use a closed source and not end to end encrypted (by default) chat app...

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think their features list mentioned optional encryption?

    V1 ideas from Google while trying to compete with V6 platforms. It's just how it is.
