@stisch Probably because you can't store those numbers in numerical types (Too large, as the name suggests)

They'd just overflow and your math would be incorrect.

I remember to make this kind of functions while participating in programming competitions, as there is no datatype to store a lot of digit numbers. So, we use strings to save those numbers and perform these operations
