posting the question here, because it's quite esoteric.

for the guys familiar with the devrant api: how do i know what value to use for the app parameters? when i use '3' (as suggested) i get an error telling me that the app id is invalid

or do i have to request one now?

I’d give credit but I forgot who wrote this up.

It’s an unofficially open api, there is no devrant based documentation for this so we do what we devs do and find ways to make it work.

Maybe a little late now but just look at the requests sent? Open dev tools, log in and just copy pasta the url.
