I don't know about the sentiment here. I used to work at a sandwich shop and could barely afford to pay for anything ever.

As a developer... i can definitely afford a lot more things.

I dont know about you guys but in my country devs have the biggest salaries (Romania)

@liverreich I can't speak for everywhere in the world, but hard code writing programmers are generally well compensated.

@achehab lol damn, that was pretty much the story. it's still ongoing and I won't hear anything else until Wednesday cause the overpriced jackass has meetings Monday and Tuesday, I think he's trying to make me sweat. jokes on him I couldn't give a shit, something tells me he's going to be a client from hell which is exactly why I'm making sure every fucking detail is in the contact where he can't say this isn't what I asked for

I think we should be given the authority to go and beat the fuck up of our clients. devRant must be taken more seriously, some of the clients really turn your life into hell

Software Engineers make good money, people who assemble a website using a cms and off the shelf plugins tend to do less well!

@ThomasRedstone I know a guy that's making pretty damn well doing that, while I'm trying to do right and give people the best tools for the job and barley scrape by. so not really true

@jckimble if someone is enterprising, they can sell snow to Eskimos.
But if you compare salaries for a WordPress developer, to a Symfony developer, and a Java developer, there is a clear pattern of increasing wages!
