My teacher said: "You can choose the language of your code, but when you will need to make a great program you will use Java"

    Someone who's studying with other cs students here, they don't even know how to do that these days.

    We had an exam about basic linux commands with full internet access and everything.
    Some people went out there without passing it.

    @nitwhiz it never occured to me, but now I feel like there should be a research class, which teaches you how to do proper research aka google

    @jonii I always advocate schools should teach what common sense is, and it's uses and all. Specially the uncommon sense part and how it helps us rise up from commonalities.

    Oh and a course about giving a fuck or two sometimes.

    Hold on… That was JavaScript, wasn't it? Then how do you do this in Java? Let me google this real quick...

    @magh81 that assumes teachers have common sense... Most of mine didn't.

    development is about good implementation and strong algorithms. not just knowing by heart names of methods

    Java sux ass. There's literally no standard on its methods.
