it's not all the time about inventing ncompletely new stuff. most of the time in mankind it was more the "do it a little bit better, in a more efficient way than before" style. there you can gain maximum profit out of it. you should focus on implementing stuff which makes a fellow person much more efficient with the tool you give him.
