Can you be a successful programmer if you fail Calc 2? College is weird...

Yea man welcome to fuck math gang.

I failed calc one, changed my major and took an easier calc class that is easy as fuck now lol

I didn't even have to take Calc, I don't see myself as an inferior dev 😂

Not only did I switch to Computer Science from Computer Engineering because of the: Physics, Chemistry, and Math (little did I know), I proceeded to fail Calc 1 _twice_ before passing with an A- the third time, and failed Calc 2 once, before passing with a B the second time.

In my opinion, persistence is the single most important quality to have. I wanted the degree and I got it with trial and many tribulations. If I can do it, you can too. Keep the faith and keep working to your goal, don't give up if you get knocked down.

I've been employed for a year and a half now, from 3 months out of college. You can do it too.

Of fuckin course dude don't let someone else predetermine your future

The point of all those math physics and other shit that you will never use is not to learn so you can use it but to reshape your mindset, to strengthen it

The most difficult math I’ve had to work with was latitude / longitude distance calculations from point to point, but overall it comes down to the projects and sub-industry of development you end up getting into as to how much math knowledge will be needed or not needed.

Yes, however, you might fail to see an easy solution to coding exercised every now and then.

    General programming? Yes.
But stuff like aviation, robotics, sensors, specialized equipment/industrial stuff, some of the heavier algorithms used here and there, and so on: nope.

never went to college but still manage to create a readable and easy to use internal framework 😏

@RememberMe Hey I like the honesty

@mundo03 Very true. It very much is a tool. Same with like Data Structures. I see the value in it it's just hard, ya know :/ But it will be worth it pushing through.

I calc is hard to you, it is because you don't have enough Match concepts under control.

People tend to think Calc is like a new math, but it is just a progression.

You are right, they are tools :D
Don't get me wrong, I don't know calc anymore :D Maybe this is a reminder to get the skill back.

@mundo03 You're super right. Calc itself is really sick. It's just the bloody algebra haha.

@ButterlessToast haha yeah, it is, worst part is .. algebra is the easy part of it.

@mundo03 Encouragement is not your gift haha. I do appreciate it it, however. I'm going to push through the challenge.

@ButterlessToast Realism is more of what I do :D
In my experience, if you struggle with something it is because you missed a core concept.

I suggest you get an algebra for dummies book, it is quick read nad it will talk you through all of the core concepts you will need :D

The good thing is, you already found what is what you need to know now, so the next step is very clear :D

    @mundo03 You're freaking awesome
