@Jilano to recruiter: "I'm the principal contributor to an open source Javascript framework"
-
@Devnergy yeah it's so annoying. They're not impressed by vanilla JS. They think frameworks are super sets, i.e. JQuery is more technically challenging than Javascript.
I've stopped wasting my time taking 10
minutes educating each recruiter. They're hopeless NPCs. -
@Jilano if....
HR likes you: do you know basic jQuery? How about alerting in the browser?
HR does not like you: do you have 15 years of work experience to all JS libraries and frameworks? Also task runners? Do you have your own JS package? -
@toriyaki HR's follow up question:
Do you know JSON? How about JSON Bourne? How about JSON Statham? How about JSON Momoa?
😂 -
Wtf. First off, node is a runtime, babel is a toolchain, npm is a package manager, typescript is a language, and webpack or browserify are toolchains, too.
And secondly.. there are like not even 10 individual things in this image and shit is repeatedly in there. Most of them are not frameworks.
There are like 3 or 5 frameworks you take seriously.
It's the libs we make jokes about. -
@C0D4 recruiter logic: vanilla JS is old and deprecated, like payphones. This candidate is not in with the trends.
-
C0D4681456y@toriyaki this is a trendy extremely lightweight cross platform framework lots of JavaScript developers use.

I think you’ll find it’s far from the deprecated “vanilla / plain” old JS you are referring to 😏 -
Have a list of frameworks, make sure half of them are Pokemon.
Ask your potental recruiter which ones are real and which are Pokemon.
You'll be surprised ... "Gotta spot 'em all!" -
@Teknas npm is a framework for packaging and distribution with version management. It's scalable and JSON.
-
Progress? To be honest I don't see the issue. Without the advent of Node or Javascript frameworks we would have seen people still fucking around with a lot of concepts thar are now widely known to everyone across the full stack spectrum. Javascript was brought from a toy language to something that continues to grow into new and exciting things and no one says you need to learn all of those fronted frameworks or tooling. Just pick the one you are comfortable with or that like, sorry if obscure.js with 10 github stars ain't gonna help pay the bills, but React, Angular ans Vue continue to be safe bets.
And if you have a framework such as the above then It can easily be inferred that you are really proficient at vanilla.js -
Gaha01yDiscovering the website's list of the best JavaScript frameworks for 2024 was like finding a roadmap to success in my web development journey. The carefully curated selection showcased the frameworks that are projected https://merehead.com/blog/... to dominate the industry in the coming year. Each framework was accompanied by insightful descriptions, highlighting their unique strengths, performance capabilities, and compatibility with modern web technologies. This resource has empowered me to make informed decisions and select the most powerful and efficient JavaScript frameworks for my projects in 2024.
There's so many Javascript frameworks, that the only way to stand out is to create your own framework.
I don't see an end or point to this perpetual nonsense.
