Again with the fucking idiot recruiters...

Wasted several hours in interviews only to find a significant travel requirement that I can't do. Wouldn't have gone beyond the initial email because a fuckwad recruiter didn't think to ask all the questions recruiters should.

Are recruiters just 'developers' who didn't have the smarts to develop code and so settled for technical recruiting? They sure seem stupid sometimes

I am gonna play devil's advocate for a bit and ask: did you ask the recruiter if there were going to be any travel requirements?

If i am allergic to peanuts I would tell my waiter...i wouldn't expect him to ask.

Nope. Never really got a good job description, either. You're right, I should have, but that's a big ass requirement in my mind... A deal breaker. Not just for me, but for lots of devs 35% is too much. That's a couple of days/week..
Anyone with a family or other responsibilities.

Should have been stated up front its such a big deal... At least that's my opinion

I can add more on this ignorant recruiter

The job also had a requirement to be able to get a govt SECRET clearance. Didn't know that. I've had one, could get one again - no legal issues for this boy, ever.

That might have been a deal breaker for a lot devs as well.... You think the fucking recruiter bothered to ask about that?

Write a professionally worded letter calling them out on their bullshit. The results are always funny.

I would go as far as an open letter. But you would need to be very respectful in that in order not to look like an ass.

Where I live, most of them are not developers. Not a clue about programming.
