Boss: Who knows C#?
Me: I've heard of the language...
Boss: Perfect.

Sends me (a JS dev) to a week long course to implement a gateway in c#.

So I say to myself, who cares, I will learn a new language.

Apparently the lady in charge of the course mixed up between c# and c++

Funny thing is, the other participants are complaining that they shouldn't be in this course cause they don't know the language...

    @FrodoSwaggins I once admitted to having seen a mainframe screen before. I've been the MF "DevOps" and deploy guy for 6 years now, despite not having a clue how to actually code for it.

    @FrodoSwaggins yeah, I made the mistake of letting my workplace know that I know php. Not to say that php in bad in itself, though there is so much crappy code written in php

    C# is pretty great. I miss it now that I do Java 8 things.

    The first mistake you made was saying you've heard of it.

    I've made that mistake twice now. Granted the second time went that bad since I actually wanted to take a look at Angular, but damn, that was the last time.
