I still prefer to use the terminator, but I am always using it. Really good feature!

Voxera115856y@mjones44 VS code has integrated terminal and as far as I know it runs on mac and linux.
You can even run multiple terminals in tabs or split screen so you could have a watch process in one and another for manual stuff.
Even pointing to different directories. -

Natively you could do this with tmux, a really nice tool to split and manage your Terminal Sessions. -
@Voxera I do use VS Code already, it's great. best text editor out there imo (besides vim 😏)

Dolphin has an integrated terminal (So that you can run commands in the directory you're looking at) and that's a fantastic feature.
