Cousin sis who was brought up abroad is back in the country, looking for further education opportunities.

Says she wants to study graphic design but from the short interaction i had, it seems she has no fucking idea about the basics of what goes into graphic design. Neither does her parents.

Haven't seen or heard any work or hobby from her that would make one think she has interest in graphic design.

Asked whether she tried doing some design and it seems she is not even aware of tools like Photoshop or illustrator.

It doesn't help that she barely talks at all and wants to get back to her phone. Compared to her, i feel like an extrovert lol.

People who barely interacts or expresses are cringey to talk to.

Trying to talk to her, I feel like looking at myself from 10 years ago.

The point is - learn to talk more. It can help you a lot in life.

    Talking is overrated

Fortunately schools are meant to teach new things. One of the best devs I know didnt know anything about programming, went to a shitty school (find my previous comments on schools), but they did give him tools to start programming. Sometimes handing someone tools is good enough to become great.

You went from graphic design to “talking” 🤷🏼‍♀️

You're no longer capable to appreciate the cringe, that's a sin! 😂

@Codex404 I hope whatever she chooses to study will work out for her.

But as an immediate family member, I'm concerned about her being so closed out from everyone else. She won't be able to adapt to this country being so close minded. I haven't even seen her talking our grandma or anyone here at all.

On the other hand, I have this another much younger cousin sis. An year ago, this sis was super shy and barely talked. But since last few months, she has been making effort to start conservation, asking me about irrelevant little things which comes across as forced, showing me her drawings and artworks. It came to a point that I found her annoying.

But now I realise, I appreciate and am more willing to help and support someone who makes an effort to be more social.

I imagine her to be Lithuanian or something. Don’t know why lol. Not even knowing what is photoshop is almost impossible even if you’re not interested in design.

Anyway I agree people who don’t talk are extremely annoying to me. In the interview for my current job they actually said they prefer extroverted programmers as introverted ones (the majority) have a hard time during meeting etc. I completely agree. If you can’t do the most basic thing that humans are designed to do ... communicate ... I don’t know how to help you 🤷🏻‍♂️
