If you can charge 4* your salaried rate and full your time with billable work, its great, if you can't... Maybe don't?

You could simply go for a remote job too, doesn't have to be freelancing.

But advantages include being able to sit in your underwear at 'work', being able to take breaks when necessary with no punishment, much more free to explore new stacks, no other asshole that fucks your work up (most of the time), your own price and your own decision how many jobs to take etc.
