Tell him that you're not a pentester. And that you don't do "unethical hacking".

If you consider doing it, let your boss give you a signed letter, where it is clearly stated he wants you to do illegal stuff.

Maybe his definition of cracking it is something else. Clarify that and understand why YOU need to do that

@kgbemployee @sbiewald Signed paperwork will not safe you - it's still illegal. "Kill that person ok? It's alright I'm gonna sign a letter I told you to." If anything that signed letter makes sure his ass is getting sued too.
It's illegal. Straight out refuse to do it. If he insists and fires you if you don't comply, sue his ass.

If this is not pentesting, having a legal letter allows you to report your boss :) or have a nice card in future negotiations
