MrCush1226y@marcus5914 Unfortunate. Here in the states I believe it’s the most abused drug in college as students use it to focus and study. Of course, getting a prescription is the right way to go about it and it seems as if you’d definitely be classified as ADHD.

mt3o19136y@marcus5914 basically, ADD/ADHD.
What's in the meds for this, is basically similar stuff to amphetamine and cocaine. Most popular substance (and rather safe to use) is methylphenidate, sold as Ritalin (usa) or Medikinet (europe). Other medications involve stuff that affects dopamine or overall brain activity, like nootropics. I could give you a huge list of drugs, but I think you should rather see a doctor (psychiatrist) and tell that you have problems with keeping attention. You shouldn't get drugs on your own just because someone on the internet told you so :p
ADD is serious thing for your mental health and affects your well-being.
If you have ADD you should read those two books: driven by distraction, delivered by distraction. Both from the same author, psychiatrist working with ADD/ADHD people, Ned Hallowell. You should be able to find those books in the internet.

MrCush1226y@mt3o yes lol. I took it once in college a couple years back as I was freaking out about my test. Totally didn’t study and partied instead. Meant to take it super early and study but slept in. Took it before class and somehow got a B on the test that I was sure I was going to fail as it really did give me focus x1000. My mother actually has a script for it and takes it for work on rough days that she has a lot to do so that she can “get everything done”.

Please suggest something that doesn't include taking drugs without doctor guidance.

MrCush1226y@marcus5914 don’t believe anyone did >.>
Either way, I think your best bet is to see a doctor and see what he/she says. They’d give you much better suggestions than a developer community. -
Sumafu22426yBasically bad concentration IS NOT the same as ADHD/ADD. Bad concentration is just one of many symptoms, and each of them can appear independently without ADHD. Go to an doctor that is specialized in ADHD/ADD. And by the way, medication should be the very last option, only if nothing else helps. And even then only with regular investigation of an psychiatrist, because the drugs can damage your brain and psyche.

mt3o19136y@marcus5914 that's the book! 😃
It gave me tons of insights.
Being honest, it was a first book I read for a long time, after having the meds. Before that, I thought that reading is just not for me. I had (and still have) problems with paying attention. But that's not all.
For example, after starting my therapy, I stopped forcing myself to sit still. I change my position dozens of times during the day, take a laptop and sit on the floor, walk around the office during Skype calls, play phone during meetings. My coworkers thought that I'm rude or ignoring them, but after some time they got used to it. And it pays well, I'm not frustrated like I used to be when in school.
In the book, there is a yes/no test you can do to check yourself (that's not medical assessment, but give some point). When I was taking the test with the doctor, I had 80 points, but after discussing the questions few weeks later, I earned over 90.

I have hard time focusing at all. I can't even focus 100% when I am driving my bike. My mind tend to go other issues or thoughts when I am doing anything in my life.
Any tip to improve my focus on the current task.
