Lots of oof in one image.

I like how they had the audacity to say (and I fucking quote): "this is good news!"

I don't like to complain about sites generating revenue. I understand it is important and I even feel morally obligated not to use an adblocker. But all I will say is that the site has sustained itself for a very long time without the use of poor-quality and unrelated ads, and this feels like a lot more of a money grab than something the site actually requires.

Anyways, happy to see a -400 score on it. And I guess I can't wait to get Amazon ads on SO.

I'll just laugh when all the vitriol that they have let slip in turns against them, and twice so because it's deserved.

Don't ads vanish if you get enough points/karma/whatever anyway?

@Shardj the problem being none of my seven fucking accounts have enough rep!

@AlgoRythm /s on your comment I know. But for those who are actually upset by this: there's nothing wrong with SO using ads for income. Those who have karma pay by contributing to the site. Those who just want to browse and not contribute can put up with a few ads.

@Shardj There are already ads. What is being introduced is low-quality, unrelated ads.

And not only that, but it's happening all of a sudden. After many, many years of operation, only now do they need additional revenue? No. They want additional profits.

It's greedy and has every right to be poorly received
