Easier today than in 2009?
We're got all these tools and shit.. frameworks...

Yeah, which just makes you over ambitious, as the weekend project turns into 6 months despite itself.

I say no.

Backend and ci/CD is easier today
Frontend became a complex beast of its own.

Easier for veterans, harder for beginners

I'm feeling its harder now.
It's a bit overwhelming, just the sheer amount of different THINGS/TOOLS/FEATURES/FRAMEWORKS/PLUGINS/APPS/ ETC you have to keep learning.

I probably just need a break. I've been whining a lot lately.

Provided you know the use case for each... requires experience. Even with a cheat sheet, comes with confusion, struggle, effort.

I admit all these tools help for waht they are supposed to help with, but sometimes its like ... "aaaahhhhhh!!!"

The tool itself becomes the thing we toil with, rather than you know.... the actual coding.

I mean, how many times have you had to spend a day just on learning a tool which is supposed to make x easier, and probably does, but now your garage (brain) is full.

Just saying.
