I'm sick and tired of reading jokes about PHP, JavaScript and Java. They reflect the situation from 10 years ago. Modern state of the languages is much nicer, lots of problems have been addressed. People don't realize how irrelevant their jokes really are. If your language of choice is stagnant and has not changed, you should not extrapolate.

You're right. Thing is, those jokes are always made by people who do not use these languages. Those simple minds just don't know better.

there's a line where it's just pointless. in the beginning devRant had a lot of "semicolons: the where's waldo of programming." if you're too ignorant to not use an ide, and not read an error message properly, that's on you. please go back to reddit.

I would make a case that when you boost JavaScript with TypeScript, some functional toolbelt like Ramda, some reactivity goodness like RxJs, and tie it all together, you can be safe, efficient and produce a really sane and good-looking code. Modern JS is about power: you have a lot of ways to make things right.

Wait, a rant about ranting these god foresaken phobia inducing languages are shit!!!

Wait... wait don't shoot me, I use all these languages and more 😂
These are languages that..., well I think uncle Ben said it best.

Agreed, the node_modules folder is a recent thing though. It's stupid to look badly on ancient practices and language defects of languages that have been around so long when they have evolved and went to great lengths to fix things and have constructs that support problems today. These languages are still relevant because of a reason. Stop taking a dump on them and use them where they can play at there strengths.

@droidion use sanctuary, folktale or even crocks. Ramda is fine but it should'nt be used as a « toolbelt ».
