I'm trynna buid a new pc for data related works. I already have i7 8700k processor with decent cooler in Asrock z370 extreme 4 MoBo and 16 gb ram. I cant decide between RX 5700XT and RTX 2080 Super.

Please help. Your valuable opinion is highly appreciated.

    We need more information such as what performance you need, for what, the price you're willing to spend, etc.

    In my opinion, the RX 5700XT is closer to a 2070 Super than the 2080 Super. In addition, the AMD card costs around €450, while the NVIDIA one is closer to €750.

    @Dark14Rafe I’m still using a machine I built in 2011 and I don’t think it’s too slow. Trust me you’re fine.

    I don't understand how Python is the language of choice for data science. It doesn't even thread properly. At least cpython doesn't. It is one of my favorite languages, but not my choice for processing large amounts of data.

    Rx 5700 xt is equivelent of rtx 2060 super. Comparing rtx 2080 super with rx 5700 is like comparing a lamborghini with a ford focus. If you got money, get rtx 2080 super.
