Nano if you don't want to learn.

Nano if you enjoy pain and suffering

I turned on nano and in half an hour I figured how to save, edit, search and exit and I love it. Later I turned on Vim...

... still dont know how to close it.

@forkbomber Well its sad truth mostly. I tried with q, with wq. But sometimes no matter how many times I pressed ESC it would lead me to the prompt to enter it. Other times it tries to record a macro I think. Thing is, Nano does great job and when you need a edit if something on the server (for those not fortunate enough to allow using deploy scripts -.-') you dont want to experiment. Heck I mostly use git commit -m "message" just to avoid running the thing (I know it can be switched, but 50 char commit is what you need to strive for so no editor needed). Dont know why people force Vi altogether. Is it THAT better than anything else? :/

@arekxv I use vi every day and I literally never have these problems..
You only press Esc once where needed, otherwise you are doing something wrong...

@snayski I know that there are ways around it. I also know that if I try I can learn it, I just dont see the point. Even if I learn it I would still use nano since I prefer shortcuts to typing wq, q, zz. The only good thing is that vim is available everywhere while nano is not so I guess I'll have to learn it eventually :)

Vim is well supported by dev community, has hundreds of plugins, you can customize it to death, every modern IDE has a plugin for it. I don't why would you use nano
