yarwest27158yNormally I would say get another screen, but I didn't even consider the tv. That's a brilliant idea :)
-
crisz82368yHow can you use a 40" tv on a desk? I don't watch my tv from 20cm of distance, instead a monitor is made for this
-
The resolution of a TV will be less than a monitor of the same size. Go with the second monitor
-
Volbrite108yBuy additional monitor - I've got 27' AOC and it's great for me, but in work i use 24inch and it's fine too. TV is preety bad idea - your's eyes will hurt after spending hours near to tv, so the efficiency of coding will go down :)

Redders9578y@DrKintobor unless it's a 4k TV.
But the real problem is that TVs are optimised for moving pictures, but maybe that's an old issue that modern TVs don't have. -
I had a TV to play vanilla wow. Back then the res was low...not as good as you think....3x monitors is a minimum when I had 5 2x years ago....the 2x 17 inches were used for ftp and long running tasks
-
Tv. Although ''32 might be better, take into account that you'll be very near to it.
-
ibeals98yTV if it's 4k and you can power it at 60 hrz. I have a 4k but the refresh is low. I had two monitors previously but there wasn't enough screen real estate.

noel824498y+1 go for an ultrawide
I was skeptical but it's an ideal solution now for a dev environment -
Ankan998ySecond monitor for sure (haven't tried a single wider monitor setup, that could also work)
-
27" Dell 4k display. Way better than the apple cinema displays at half the cost. Trust me, I'm running both on my desk right now.
-
@mcraz Same here but get a job, get your boss for it or be a contractor and get the tax back for it
-
@mcraz to be hones, i got an ultra wide (21:9) 23" but rotated 90 degrees in the middle and 2x 22" 16:9 on either side. Vertical monitors are the best for coding, it's so awesome..

I currently have a single monitor setup.
I want to upgrade. Which one is better?
1. Buying another monitor (same as I have)
2. Buying a big 40" TV and code on that
