thecode24705y@Root Is it? All ruby developers I know are seemingly happy with the language. Can't say the same about JS developers though.
-
I love JavaScript. I know she is difficult but with love you can move mountains :D
-
thecode24705yWell. Ideally I'd want the behavior to be consistent. I.e. If the first one does a addition then the second one should too. Or else both of them should do string append.

Root797775y@thecode Ruby is wonderful. That's why I couldn't come up with anything worse than what I listed π

@gudishvibes Sorry, https://jsfiddle.net/0q9bsgn8/ . But hey, it's not 100% illogical
-
@Frederick jeez... π it's not like people do not understand why this happens. We do. We understand it and it is horse crap. Because it is not consistent and violates the principle of least surprise.
What I hate is people confusing not understanding with not liking. Happens way too often. -
Root797775y@embeddedmaikel I'm not sure about java, but C/C++ definitely behave this way. It's pretty common behavior.

smirving915yJS has plenty of oddities, but the ones in the cartoon arent weird at all, that makes perfect sense to me given type coercion, which is one of the most powerful aspects of the language.
