"Geometry can produce legible letters, but art alone makes the beautiful. Art begins where geometry ends, and imparts to letters a character transcending mere measurement." - Paul Standard

True artfulness IMHO is using the geometry to make useful patterns and make them work in meaningful ways.. abstraction on the other hand, randomness if you will... Modern music, modern "art", etc.. there's no ingenuity involved anymore. Neither is there in code, systems or anything of the sort. If anything I'm disappointed.

Architecture and engineering on the other hand.. looking at the design choices of others and making my own to solve issues in a scalable way, that's something I like a lot. But every single part of it has to perform an actual function.

And that's why I use a $200 font in my editor.
